Quality Assessment

Your practice or facility may require different types of imaging equipment – Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), 3D Mammography, Positron Emission Tomography (PET-CT), or other diagnostic imaging systems. Deciding which system, or systems, best fit your needs is not a simple task.

A Quality Review Committee will be established for oversight of the Quality Assessment and Improvement Program (QAIP). The committee makeup will vary from site to site and may consist of the Site Medical Director, Site Manager, Radiologist, Company President and a Clinical Specialist.

The Roles

  1. The Site Medical Director or Company President will be responsible for overall management and accountability of the QAIP.

  2. The Site Manager will be responsible for patient satisfaction issues.

  3. The Clinical Specialist will responsible for image quality and all clinical forms and paperwork.

  4. All Technologists will be board certified in their respective fields of practice.Technologists will operate their imaging system under the indirect supervision of the reading Radiologist and ordering physician. The performing technologist will evaluate all procedures, processes and images continuously.

  5. The Radiologist will be responsible for order appropriateness and exam effectiveness and be available to consult with the technologists at all times.

  6. Any safety or clinically significant mistakes will be immediately brought to the attention of the Site Manager and the Quality Review Committee.

  7. The Quality Review Committee will meet annually or as needed to review the QAIP.
